Vintage

Six years in the making.

Rich, decadent, with a flavour that evolves from the first sip to the last, this is a beer to savour. Matured in first fill American Bourbon casks for 100 days and then further matured in bottle for six years, to date this is the longest we have ever matured a beer.

Describing this beer is a wonderful challenge because, once opened and poured, it’s aroma and flavour changes and evolves in the glass from the first sip to the last. Although it is incredibly complex, it has an incredible smoothness thanks to it’s extraordinary maturation.

We believe that everyone who tries it will find different things…

For our Master Brewer Dougal Gunn Sharp, it starts with an aroma of champagne, then after a few minutes develops aromas of Christmas cake, ginger, dark treacle (molasses) with hints of cocoa. It then passes through a phase of smelling like a good white burgundy, before aromas and flavours of caramel, toffee and oak start to emerge.

Towards the end of the glass orange marmalade, toasted butter and smooth coffee flavours come to the fore.

This is a beer that will take you on a unique journey and we hope you enjoy that journey as much as we have.
