We're putting an end to the January blues once and for all by joining Celtic Connections as their Headline Partner for the next five years!
As a proudly Scottish brew we've built a reputation for supporting Scottish music and culture over the years, sharing the Celtic Connections passion to offer a unique and unforgettable experience for music fans.
"It was a total lightbulb moment" says Dougal Gunn Sharp, Founder and Master Brewer, reflecting on Scottish supergroup Mànran's show-stopping performance at The Mound in Edinburgh earlier this year. "The crowd was absolutely buzzing, passers by stopped to watch their set and the energy around our venue was incredible. In that moment the penny dropped for me that modern Trad music is really gaining momentum."
Donald Shaw, Creative Producer for Celtic Connections, said: "It’s hard to imagine a better fit as a partner for Celtic Connections than Innis & Gunn. Both were established in this country and the festival and brewer have a uniquely Scottish identity that is appreciated much further afield."
To celebrate the announcement we invited Donald, plus local up-and-coming Scottish Trad band Astro Bloc to our Ashton Lane Taproom for an intimate gig - demonstrating just why Glasgow is a UNESCO City of Music.
Taking place at iconic venues including The Old Fruitmarket, Barrowland Ballroom and SWG3, Celtic Connections expects to welcome 110,000 visitors and 1,200 musicians between Thursday 16th January and Sunday 2nd February as it celebrates Celtic music and culture from around the world.
Dougal summed up: "Like Celtic Connections, Innis & Gunn could only have come from here, a reflection of everything that makes Scotland what it is today; Brewed by Scotland, for the world."
